Post-project Reflection

1. I am hoping to educate the viewer on Aspergers Syndrome. My goal is that they see that people with Aspergers can accomplish great things. The facts on Aspergers should make the audience feel more informed.

2. My effects were achieved by giving facts on the subjects with photos and text along with interviews. My interviews were done on people that are well respected and knowledgeable on the subject of Aspergers.

3. The main rhetorical move I made was to have my interviews be with people who were respected in the area of Aspergers. The Head of Disability and the Head of the Psychology Department at Miami along with my tutor who will graduate with a Psychology degree in May and has a brother with Aspergers. All of the pictures and charts with texts were all facts. The people in my interviews were also well dress so that they would be taken seriously. I also add text so that the viewers would know that these people had titles that should be respected and taken seriously.

4. I have no anxieties over people viewing my video. I’m proud of the way it is.

5. The five components of digital delivery were very helpful to me in making my video. Without the five components, I don’t think I would have thought as thoroughly as I did about all the areas that should be covered. My interviews are the best part of my video. Head of disability, the head of the psychology department, and a senior in psychology who also happens to have asperger’s, were the people I interviewed. I lucked out with these interviews. They were all very informative. I am also very glad that I was able to get my video published on the Miami disability website. This is going to make it easily accessible to the target group I am hoping to reach.

6. When I really look at all the components of digital delivery, I have to say that it really helped my video come together very well. The interviews were by far the most helpful to tie everything together. It helps to inform people on asperger’s without it being so boring. The people in my interviews clearly know what they are talking about. They deal with people with the disability of asperger’s syndrome on a daily basis. People will believe this video and trust that the information that they are receiving is coming from well-educated sources. My question was definitely answered with these interviews. The interviews along with the graphics tie everything together nicely.

7. The component of digital delivery that was the least helpful to me was the interaction component. There was not really any of the interaction component going on in my video project. There was no reason to put interaction in this type of video. My video is more informative and educational and I thought it was well put together without having the interaction component. Hopefully, it will be used as a learning resource for many people. The rest of the components were used and were very helpful.

The purpose of my video is to help educate people about Aspergers Syndrome. Many people aren’t aware of Aspergers. I just want society to know the facts and be more tolerant of people with disabilities. Hopefully, this video will engage them enough to further research the subject. My audience is everyone from school age children to adults. My hope is to reach a large audience through the Miami Disabilities website and perhaps the Miami Psychology website. These websites would be great for the Miami students and family thinking of sending their child with Aspergers to Miami. I will meet with the head of these departments tomorrow. In the meantime if I can’t get my video on these websites by Tues. I will use alternative websites to get my video to a large audience. I will have the 3 websites posted by Tuesday’s class. I am also sending an email with the link to my video to the heads of special services at the elementary, middle, and high school in my home town. I am hoping they will use this as a resource to show parents and students that it is possible to succeed in society with the disability of Aspergers. I decided not to put a disclaimer on my video. I can’t see any reason that someone would tamper with this video. I am hoping that people would use it for their own educational reason and tell their friends, family, and colleagues about this video that I am very proud of.

The thing that has been annoying me the most about my video is that my advisor said that he could put my video on the school website, but I don’t know how to contact him to get the information I need about it. I thought this would have been a really good place to post my video since it talks about learning disabilities.
My answer to the first question is related to one of the 5 components of digital delivery. My answer is related to distribution and circulation because it mentions putting my video on a different website.
I finally managed to finish my video the way that I wanted it. I got pictures of famous people with asperger’s syndrome, put them in my video, and posted the final draft on YouTube. The only trouble I am having is trying to figure out where else I’m going to post my video.
I realized that I am behind in my work and it is starting to get me very frustrated. I felt good about managing to post my video, but there are some blog projects that I am having a lot of trouble understanding and I can’t seem to calm myself down. I am hoping that I get everything finished before the next class on Tuesday.
Some of the resources that I have drawn from this week are pictures of famous people with asperger’s syndrome. Another resource I used is the Internet so I could figure out how to post my video on to YouTube.

What I have been thinking of is how to put my video together in a way that would keep all of the viewers interested. I want to make a video that will keep the audience engaged and wanting to view more.
Yes, my answer does relate to one of the five components of digital delivery. I think it relates to the first one, Body/Identity, because I am thinking about how my video will affect the audience and how they will respond to my video.
I have interviewed three people whose comments I can use in my video and got consent from all of them. I made my own storyboard so that I know what I want and where I want it to go. I also have done research on famous people who have had Asperger’s Syndrome. I found pictures and sounds that I wanted to use in my video. I started to put together the first part of my video with interviews and pictures.
I am starting to feel better about the project because I figured out how to put together the first part. I feel more confident about my ability to finish the video project successfully.
Some of the most important resources I have are the interviews I made because it shows what other people have to say about the point I am trying to make. I also have the pictures I took from the Internet and the music I found on my computer.

I hope that people will react positive to the video.
I plan on using interesting images to get peoples attention.
Not at the moment, but I plan to get help.
I plan to use music at the beginning and end of the video. To grab the viewer’s attention at the start of the video and to end it the same way.

Yes, my tutor helps me compose my video and I interview other people.
I use the video camera to record people and I talk to my tutor when we’re working on it.

I am limited to the type of tutor and/or advisor I can be with.
Yes, by citing them.

The type of writing I normally do is essaying, and blogging. I mainly use my Mac.
I use my computer to type and that involves physical movement.
I use my hands to use my video camera to record peoples interviews.
I would say my identity is a white male attending college. The first thing people notice is my appearance.
I identify myself as a college student and they often use computers.

1. I have thought about people I would interview and what questions I would ask people I interview. I wanted to ask questions that would provide information about how other people feel about others with asperger syndrome. I also wanted to show clips of famous people who have been diagnosed with asperger syndrome.

2. My answer does relate to one of the 5 components of digital delivery. It is related to economics because it involves taking information used to describe other people from websites and using them in my own context.

3. I interviewed my tutor, Lauren, and asked her questions about what her views on people with asperger syndrome were. I could not figure out how to upload the interview on my computer, so I would ask my teacher for help at our next meeting. I also came up with questions to interview my counselor, Andy. I have been having trouble trying to schedule an appointment with him. I also found information about famous people who have asperger syndrome.

4. I feel like this will get me a good grade when this video is finally done. I also feel a little bit stressed about getting my project done in time. I’m also worried about putting the whole video together and putting it on YouTube.

5. I already interviewed one person and I plan to interview someone else. I also plan on doing some research on famous people who have asperger syndrome. I plan to upload what I have done of the video for Thursday’s class.
